Afterwork is the anti-networking event.
Afterwork is a secret monthly supper club held in Toronto that aims to bring together creatives from diverse industries who may not have had the chance to connect otherwise. Attendees are successful entrepreneurs and leaders in the Toronto tech scene. Unlike typical networking events, Afterwork distinguishes itself as an intimate gathering, accommodating only six attendees. To enhance the element of surprise, the venue for each event is revealed just 24 hours in advance, and participants remain unaware of the other guests until the actual event. Through this innovative approach, Afterwork fosters meaningful connections and sparks unexpected encounters among Toronto's creative community.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

At Afterwork, I focus on growing a creative, collaborative community.
I serve as the connector between Afterwork and its people by supporting attendees, staying in touch with those on the waitlist, and making sure everyone feels seen. I’m the main point of contact, offering guidance and gathering feedback through surveys, interviews, and conversations to help shape Afterwork’s direction.
I keep the community engaged by sharing updates, highlighting resources, and celebrating the work of our members. At the core of it all is relationship-building with participants, vendors, and the broader creative network.

As a new venture, it’s my role to build thoughtful systems that support long-term growth.
I create processes and templates that make communication smooth and sustainable. I develop clear guidelines so others can easily jump in and keep things moving. After each event, I check in with attendees, gather feedback, and look for patterns. That insight helps me refine the experience and make the next one even better.

I build budget plans that reflect Afterwork’s goals and available resources.
I keep a close eye on income, expenses, and cash flow to make sure we’re staying on track. I revisit the budget often, adjusting as things evolve or new ideas come up. It’s about staying flexible while making sure the numbers support the bigger picture.

I handle the logistics that bring each Afterwork event to life, from finding the right venue to curating the menu.
I coordinate with vendors to make sure everything runs smoothly and keep communication going after the event wraps. I also manage our monthly newsletter, lead user interviews, and take care of all email outreach to keep our community informed and engaged.
