TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

I believe the best learning happens when curiosity meets connection. I design inclusive, hands-on, and inquiry-driven spaces where students build skills, explore ideas, and see the body and the world in new ways. My courses mix experimentation, critical thinking, and creative expression, helping students leave with practical skills and a fresh perspective on the ethical, cultural, and artistic sides of anatomy and biology.

COURSES & WORKSHOPS

  • This course combined lab and studio work, guiding students to explore anatomy, physiology, and microbiology while creating projects that connected biological processes with artistic representation.

  • This course examined human and comparative anatomy through recent life science research, encouraging critical thinking, ethical reflection, and experimental art-science practice.

  • Students dissected squids to explore anatomy, then created original prints with squid ink, combining biological study with artistic expression.

  • Hands-on anatomical study paired with historical and artistic context; concluded with a screening of Salvador Dalí’s Un Chien Andalou.

  • Co-facilitated with Dr. Samantha Yammine, offering an open forum for students to engage with contemporary neuroscience research and myth-busting.

  • Guest-led workshop with forensic anthropologist Dr. Tracy Rogers, connecting anatomy and anthropology with real-world case studies.

  • Students learned ethical taxidermy and entomology practices, exploring anatomy and preservation through an artistic lens.

  • Combined technical study of musculoskeletal anatomy with artistic representation, encouraging observational skills and critical feedback.

BIO

I’m a multidisciplinary artist and educator who works where art, science, and human stories meet. Many of my projects take place in wet labs, using living materials and biological processes as creative tools. I love turning research into hands-on, sensory experiences that spark curiosity about everything from anatomy and molecular gastronomy to sleep science. For me, science isn’t just data, but rather, culture, creativity, and connection. My work has been shown in galleries and festivals across Canada, Australia, Europe, and the US.
